On April 1, the Ministry of Commerce held an FIE roundtable, themed on “Contributing to the Development of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle”. It was an opportunity to listen to the asks, opinions and suggestions of FIEs investing in Chengdu and Chongqing. Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of Commerce, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhang Guozhi, Vice Mayor of Chongqing, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. 26 FIEs joined the meeting, including Ford, Intel, Sumitomo Electric, Panasonic, Roche Diagnostics, Marriott, Lee&Man Paper, BASF, and Metro.

Tang Wenhong said that China is speeding up the development of new quality productive forces and promoting high-quality development. China’s strengths lie in its broad market space, comprehensive supply chain and concentration of production factors, such as talents and technology. These will provide huge development opportunities for FIEs. The Chinese government is committed to creating a market-oriented, law-based and world-class business environment, providing soudn services for FIEs, and welcomes foreign investment in China, especially in the Chengdu-Chongqing region for win-win development.

Officials from relevant authorities of Chongqing Municipality, Sichuan Province and the Ministry of Commerce attended the meeting and talked with the enterprises.
